Reprogramming
Your Maker. Choose with your GM who made you a tool and by what means — captors and their conditioning, a workshop that assembled you, a cult that raised you, a curse set on you in the cradle. Name it once; every clause below that says your Maker means that choice.
(Default: captors and their conditioning. You were made into a tool before you were a person, and the tooling is still in you.)
This package always includes Reprogramming.
Mental Residue. You take a −4 penalty on contested Charisma checks and on saving throws against compulsion effects.
Command Phrase. Your Maker put a specific phrase in you, set at character creation with the GM and known to at least one living creature. A creature that speaks your Command Phrase where you can hear it places you under an extraordinary dominate person effect. This allows no saving throw and persists until the commanded task is complete or you are freed by outside intervention.
The phrase is a fact about the world, not a spell — it is extraordinary, so it is not subject to spell resistance, does not radiate magic, and is not suppressed in an antimagic field. Countering it means removing the speaker, the knowledge, or your ability to hear it.
More Machine Than Man. While you are under dominate person or a similar control effect and the order you are following relates to crafting or killing, you gain:
| Effect | Value |
| Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wis | +2 morale each |
| Charisma | reduced to 1 |
| All saving throws | +1 morale |
| All movement speeds | +10 ft |
| Charisma-based skills | unusable, except Intimidate, which you make using your Strength modifier and which gains +4 circumstance |
Bonuses typed per §1.8. Morale means they do not stack with a second morale source. Spite spends are profane and stack with these.
Taking on the tooling. As a swift action, spend 1 Spite to enter this state deliberately for 1 minute. Self-triggered, you gain every line of the table. For the duration you may take only actions that advance a craft you are working or the death of a creature you can see, and the state runs its full minute — except that once no creature you can see is hostile to you, you may end it as a full-round action.
